I'm looking at it online and the cover picture shows an older guy and an Asian lady, but I could swear that in our house it was him and an East Indian lady in traditional Indian dress.

Did anyone else have that version? Or am I thinking or another game entirely?

it doesn't matter who is on the cover - all that matters is that you've got the right game.

mastermind was a board with around ten steps (guesses)

one person would make a 'code' with pegs of six colors, in four spots. they might choose red, red, white, red, for example.

the other person would try to guess it by attempting to duplicate the 'code'

if they got the right color, but the wrong spot, they would be awarded a white mini-peg. if they got the right color, right spot, they got awarded a black mini-peg. the guesser would use these clues to try to get the right 'code'

You are thinking of a different game.

Here is a link to the pictures of the front of the boxes of all known versions:

None of them are of an East Indian lady in traditional Indian dress.

Hi Nika,

Master Mind=had all those pegs-(blue, red, yellow, green) if you guess it right then you g0t white or black pegs-on board, similar to Battle Ship almost,
Clue=people dressed in clothes-board game- in witch room, what tool & something else-had to figure out who did it.
Have a good night. :0)
Additional Details: games of all kinda ones are always fun to play.
