It sure happened to me....I was waiting for my daughter to finish her baseball practice so stopped in at a local starbucks to read the paper and kill some time and there was a man at the table beside me reading a paper too...we ended up chatting about current events and when I left he asked me out for lunch the next day...that was 3 years ago and we've been together ever since that lunch date. I certainly wasn't looking for a potential partner that day...just waiting for the practice to finish.

it is soo true! when my fionce' contacted me, i had just given up on relationships period, due to the fact that i wanted to get my life together, and clean myself up. i used to party very hard, drinking and smoking, and he walked into my life again (i have known him since elementry school), he saved me from myself. i was iffy about hanging with him and one of my former class mates, bu i wanted to get out of the house, so i asked to tag along. that is one decision i will never regeret, because he helped me turn my life arround completly. i had even written in my diary a few nights before that i wanted to change... its awesome how when you completly give up, love smacks you in the face :), and how you cant find it when you look for it.
