For me it was about 3 months ago I had a question that I typed into google and a bunch of Yahoo Answers came up and I read those.. soon after I had another question and I said, hey I may as well ask the question myself and I signed up.. Then I started thinking of things I had always wanted other peoples opinions on and whatever else, and now here I am over 500 answers and 140 questions later.... lol
So, how bout you, what got you started on here?

I was playing hearts at yahoo, and ran into a server problem and googled the question. People had asked the same questions and it got my problem resolved. A few months ago, I needed to research something and thought about the experts out here.

The same reason as you. I typed in something to the Yahoo! search engine and Yahoo! Answers came up and it's been an addiction ever since. I answer many more questions than I ask though.

I saw in the papers about Stephen Hawkings asking a question here.
So I came by just to see what Y!A is all about. and I got hooked up in no time.
It was made easy by the fact that I already have a yahoo account, no need to register anything to start participating... something that stops me from participating in many other forum

I worked at a really boring job where I sat by a computer but wasn't essentially supposed to go on the internet, the computer was just to assist customers, place orders, do inventory work, etc. I couldn't resist, I was bored, so I found Yahoo Answers (beforehand I just killed time playing Yahoo games).

Well, I had a yahoo account, then I decorated my little icon thing, and I realized why it was there. For your identity on answering and asking questions! So.. yeah. I started at Baby Names.
