Need to know if you have an AGP slot on your motherboard, or do you only have a PCI slot. AGP is smaller and set back in further than your PCI slots which are usually white.

Most newer machines will take an AGP card which works better than PCI.

Make sure your getting the right slot on the video card, AGP or PCI-E

another thing is POWER, POWER and POWER, make sure your Power supply can handle the power requirement from the Video card.

Most video card will tell you how many Amps from the 12v rail they need. Just make sure your PSU meet the requirement, or you will experience, lock ups etc..

you need to find whether ur PC takes AGP or PCI express, because they are specific slots. When u find that out, the rest is just finding a graphic card with the power/price u wanna spend and find out whether its ur slot or not.. to find out if ur slot is AGP or PCI-e u check, if ur not computer smart.. ask someone that is or a PC technitian

Make sure is compatible. When you've bought it, delete the old one from your system. Go to your hardware platform to do that(start>control panel>system>hardware)if you're system literate. Then off the computer, insert the new on, restart your system. It will be installed automatically. Except if it asks you for the installation disc
