When it's "fast" veggie food I'm after, I hit up a sushi place. It's cheap too. But then, I'm in Vancouver which is thick with them. If you're in some Twilight Zone no-real-food kind of place, Subway is a bland stand-by, or Quiznos. But what I'll usually do when desperate is pop into a grocery store and get some deli salads and a bun. Or, they usually make up rather tasty sandwiches on the spot.
The problem is, even when places like McDonald's or Burger King offer a "veggie" burger, you know it is cooked in the foul grease puddle of all the regular burgs. Sort of takes the enjoyment away.

as a vegetarian i don't eat at fast-food chains at all. because even though you may not be consuming their meet you are still supporting their business which slaughter millions of animals each year. if fast food chains such as Macdonald's close down a lot more animals would be saved. so i suggest don't support them at all. check if there is a "whole foods" store in your area. its a grocery store but they also have a hot bar and pizza place filled with vegetarian meals which are healthy, well prepared,and filled with protein.

My wife and I try our darndest to avoid fast food, simply because they are not very healthy! We have found one that is a favorite: Boston Market!
They cook the food right there to order. They have TONS of choices for side orders, from Mashed potatos, Green Beans, cinnamin apples, seasoned veggies... the list goes on!
Pf you don't have access to a BM, a lesser one is Wendy's. They offer a fruitcup and a few more things.

Del taco has a really yummy veggie works burrito, taco bell has a good burrito also that is the 7 layer burrito, Pollo Loco has a bean rice and cheese burrito and a cheese quesadilla, Subway has a veggie patty sandwich that is so good.

my favorite..the veggie delight at Subway! Get it with olive oil and vinegar and some salt and pepper. I think you'll like :)
