I met the love of my life 6 months ago, we've since travelled together & moved in together (about 3 months). We're trying for a baby, have joint health insurance and are talking about spending the rest of our lives together. However the M-word (marriage) has never been spoken...
We're both 40 and neither of us have been married before, mainly because we've been wating for the right person to come along.
I feel that he has and I guess that a ring for Christmas would be a pretty solid Hint that I do want to make things official between us. Is there anything wrong with doing that??
He currently often wears a ring that an ex gave him some time ago. He says he feels "naked" without one. I've previously mentioned that I'd like to get him a new one & he really liked the idea, but he was probably thinking we'd go shopping for one together....

There's nothing fishy about him or desperate about me. We know each other through long-standing (15+ years) friends. Whatever you may thing of the ring idea, I'm not some twit who's being taken for a ride and neither is he.

"Are you psychic? I have a feeling he has no intention of marrying you or spending any longer with you than suits his agenda"

Missingora, obviously you consider yourself to be the psychic one.

What makes you think he has marriage on his mind? Are you psychic? I have a feeling he has no intention of marrying you or spending any longer with you than suits his agenda.
If you must buy a ring, buy it for yourself!!! You got in an awful hurry to move in together. And at six months; no marriage vows and you're trying for a baby. You might want to take a good look at what you're doing and if you have your priorities in order.

Take him shopping for a ring, and ask him to marry you after he picks it out. There's nothing wrong with proposing to the man of your dreams. Good luck.

Yes. Get the ring....

Just a recommendation.... you might want to get the ring before the baby.
