But because I've never had glasses before I didn't really know what the optometrist was talking about when he said one of her eyes is 9 and the other is 6. Also, I don't mind her having to wear glasses seeing that glasses aren't ugly like they used to be and we found a really cute pink pair that she really likes. But the doctor said there will be some magnification. Does this mean that her eyes are going to look huge like coke bottle glasses?

Is there a possibility she will outgrow it?

just means her eyes will look bigger but nothing scary she will look cute regardless. just encourage her to wear them.
when he said the numbers means one eye is worse than the other so her lenses will be different strengths but dont worry she will be ok.

she can grow out of it, never loose hope but dont push it either. my teachers thought i had a learning disability when i started school at the age of 5 but it was actually because i couldnt see, my eyes never developed as a child so i had the big coke bottle lenses but my mum refused to get the hideous big glasses so she had the sides shaved down to fit into regular glasses. when i hit 15 and had puberty my eyes naturally developed and im now 21 with almost perfect vision. said id never hold a licence but ive had it and been driving for 3-4yrs. so never say never!

Okay, don't freak out about your daughter's appearance. She's six; let her live. The most in style glasses are the black thick-rimmed ones, but let her choose them. Enventually she'll want contacts, so just offer the idea to her, and let her decide if she wants them or not (eventually she'll want them.)

No, you don't "outgrow" this. Why didn't you ask the doctor these questions when you were there, that is what you are paying for? I believe magnification has to do with what she is seeing.
