Jessica, there's no way that you could have found out at 8 weeks. Don't give garbage information out! Read any book, ask any doctor, ask any nurse, they will tell you you can't find out that early.
Anyway...it's somewhere between 16-20 weeks or so that they can tell if you want to find out.

No cannot tell sooner than that , well not accurate anyway .. The girls bits are still quite swollen earlier also so it can be mistaken for a boy..
Normally 18-20 ultrasound you find out the sex providing the baby is in right position .. and yes you can normally tell with an experience technichan from 16 weeks :)
EDIT :: what a load of crap jessica 8 weeks they are a size of a peanut

16 weeks is usually the earliest they can tell, even tho his bits stick out they're very small! and the testes dont drop till about 20 weeks. guess it depends on if you're baby wants u to see the show and he/she cooperates.

They usually don't even try to tell you before you are 20 wks and even then they sometimes make a mistake. I would suggest waiting between 20-28 wks to get an accurate reading. Good luck!!!

They will send you for an ultra-sound between 18 and 20 weeks. That is when they can tell the sex.

We found out just shy of 16wks with twins but they were both boys and it was quite obvious. My other 2 weren't until 20wks+ and one of them was wrong at 20wks so we did another a few weeks later so I could prove them wrong (I had no doubt she was a she..lol)

i think this is an old wives tale but if there is a line from the top of your belly button to your pelvic bone it is going to be a girl, no linne its a boy. That is my experience anyway from knong peop wwo ve had kids and now having my own.
