Definitely a sign of merriment ....... bells have a beautiful sound ....... which most people enjoy and really get you in the holiday mood ...... unless they are tied onto kids' shoes at school ...... then they are annoying ...... lol ....... = )

Not at all. It's a very easy and basic way to learn how to listen to and follow rhythm. And that's something that future musicians really need as it's not something current ones have any idea of. You've opened a can of worms there my friend, music is something I am very serious about :)

And it gets you in that Christmasy cheer.
