cause i have brown boots/uggs and i have cute black tights/leggings that are no totally black on my leg than i have a blue sweater and a red abercrombie tank w/ blue embroidey and a scarf with thin brown different shades of blue brown red and ivory

If you wear a very small amount of brown with black, then it's okay. Wearing a brown top with black pants and vice versa is definitely a no-no.

The two colors are good together as long as their not the only two colors. If they are then your outfit or whatever is black and brown are going to look drab. Otherwise their really cute!

Plain black and plain brown together are out - they make each other duller.
If you wear both colors, it is better to match the tights/hose to the shoes/boots you are wearing.
Black with black, brown with brown, navy with navy, etc.

NONONO . do you want to look like a bruise or an over ripe fruit ?? i have to agree with shopahol .. don't wear both together it just doesn't work .. oratleast that much togwether . aliuttle of both is ok with the right tones and accessories but don't go overboard !

black and brown just always looks weird to me since they're so close to each other in the color family and having heard "no brown and black together!" all my life.

It is ok to wear brown and black. Brown is a neutral color and any neutral color goes with black.
