Andrew: Nice avatar. :)
You need to cut the commentators some slack, buddy. They were expecting Crosby the wonder boy and his flock of deft penguins to glide through this season with ease, and now they're stuck calling play-by-plays for a team that will possibly be on the brink of playoff elimination come April. So, they're expected to be in a blue funk.

I watched it. I'm a Penguins and Crosby fan but I can admit that the Sens outplayed the Pens half of the 2nd period and most of the 3rd period. I give Gerber A LOT of kudos, he was very solid.
But wow---is it just me, or is it extremely ridiculous to be whining and bitching about COMMENTATORS? Hello, you were watching FSN PITTSBURGH, not Versus or NBC. If you wanted to watch the game without Penguins homerism, find a way to watch a different broadcast of it.
Paul Steigerwald has been a Penguins commentator for 22 YEARS. Bob Errey, the color commentator, used to play for the Penguins, won 2 Cups with them, and tends to get pretty passionate for the current Pens' team.
They weren't whining or bitching. They just had opinions. BUT CRIPES, THEY MADE GERBER THEIR PLAYER OF THE GAME. They praised Gerber and his play several times (specific example: they mentioned that he's played so well, he's stolen the starter position back from Emery). They praised the Senators several times as well (specific example: they pointed out how dangerous the Sens' powerplay and penalty kill is).
So what if they think the REIGNING ART ROSS, HART, AND PEARSON WINNER should score a damn goal on THREE BREAKAWAYS and A CAREER-HIGH NINE SHOTS?
Like I said, they're calling the game on PITTSBURGH'S LOCAL FSN CHANNEL. Not FSN OTTAWA. This is the channel being viewed locally in Pittsburgh BY Pens fans who WANT to see Sidney Crosby score, and they want to see the Pens win.
Honestly, who cares anyway?

Caught it near the end and noticed he said that if their was justice then the Pens would score two and tie it. Also said that Sid should have had 4 goals. What a puke. Take it like a man. A team that played (and I use that term lightly) last night, came into your building and beat you. Stop whining.

Yeah, the Pens have no excuse for this one. I missed the first half, but it looked like BOTH teams deserved to lose this one.

Well, it did seem to be Gerber who enabled the Sens to win in spite of themselves.
