My dad would take his belt & whip my bare a** with it.
NO JOKE!
It really stung, & I remember one time going to bed after the beating & I shook for hours from the pain.
Another time he took me and my little brother & threw us down the stairs to the basement. I was quite suprised that I didn't end up with any broken bones. Compared to the beatings with the belt, getting thrown down the stairs was more scary, but I remember thinking at the time I got off pretty light. But to this day, I don't remember what we did wrong to deserve such treatment.
I am an adult now, and I am a Grandfather.
My dad is still alive. But we don't hug.

Um I was beaten with a stick, poles, shoes,wooden spoons etc. but not anything physical like running. Oh wait I did have to do non-stop jumping for an hour. But at least I'm grown now and know better.

My dad would spank me with a break cutting board (and broke it a few times!) I was also locked outs of the house on the deck

with a good spank and i grew up into a great adult and i have my parents to thank for that. I disclipine my kids the same way and everytime i have my kids out in public with me, everybody says how well behaved they are!!

spanked, sent to my room, grounded, had toys and activities taken away from me; had soap put in my mouth; even once, when i was a toddler, i had poop put on my face and then was lifted up to look in the mirror so i could see it. (i'm dead serious!) :(
one of my parent's friends suggested that. how rotten is that? i still remeber that.
But mostly i was spanked.
