In 2007, the shower will be active from about December 7 to 17, but the peak (the best time to see them) occurs the night of December 14 and the morning of December 15. The Geminid meteor shower has a broad peak, so you should see an excellent show all night (but you need to be at a dark site away from city lights).

The best viewing of any meteor shower is anytime after midnight. The Geminid shower is named for the constellation Gemini - that is where the "radiant" is, the point in the sky the meteors seem to originate from). But they can appear almost anywhere in the night sky, and often appear yellowish in hue. The radiant for this shower is overhead just after midnight.
