The difference between a square and a rectangle is that a rectangle has the opposing sides of equal length, but the adjacent sides are not equal in length. A square has all sides that are equal in length. So NO is the answer to your question!
EDIT: Try this... you can make a square from a rectangle by cutting down the length of the longer sides to match the adjacent ones. BUT, you have to add length to two opposite sides of equal Length to make a rectangle out of a square.

Only a square has four equal sides at 90 degree angles. A rectangle has four sides at 90 degrees but the parallel sides are equal, but not all sides are equal. So the answer is No. A square is a square and a rectangle is a rectangle.

Squares and rectangles are both quadrangles (shape that has 4 sides) but they are not the same thing. A square has 4 equal sides with 2 pairs of parallel lines. A rectangle has 4 sides. The sides that are parallel to each other are the same length. But not all 4sides are equal.

Yes, a square is a rectangle.
-Square: A quadrilateral having equal sides and 90˚ angles.
-Rectangle: A quadrilateral having 90˚ angles.
A square follows a rectangle's description as well as its own.

Yes, the rectangle can also be a square if all its sides are congruent. The definition of a rectangle is a four sided polygon with four right angles.

Yes, a square is a rectangle - it has 2 sets of parallel sides (which just happen to be of equal length) and right angles

A rectangle is a polygon with 4 edges connecting 4 verticies with each vertex being the intersection of two verticies and the angle between them being 90 degrees.
A square is a rectangle with all the sides being of equal length.
