I was born in a cross-fire hurricane
And I howled at my ma in the driving rain
I was raised by a toothless, bearded hag
I was schooled with a strap right across my back
I was drowned, I was washed up and left for dead
I fell down to my feet and saw they bled
I frowned at the crumbs and a crust of bread
I was crowned with a spike right through my head
But it's all right now, in fact it's a gas
But it's all right, I'm Jumpin' Jack Flash
It's a gas, gas, gas

Sometimes they do help?? I really don't know, because I haven't watched their shows. However my grandmother bought me the Nanny 911 book when I was pregnant. My kids are 2 years old now and I think I have read a page. We raised our twins pretty much by ourselves, because our families live so far away. My kids are neither bratty or spoilt to my knowledge anyway. I will say sometimes it does take a stranger to tell you something, we don't always listen to those we love. I think the main thing that has changed is people are trying to be there kids best friends, not their parents.

Yes, I was raised by one of those. But it was a log time ago, before everything else that happened, so don't ask me to remember which.
