Check out a little place Called Helen Georgia ... it looks like a little alpine village that has just fallen out of the sky. There is a river that runs through the town that is just wonderful, carriage rides and all kinds of novelty stores by local artisans. It sits next to a National park , the head of the Appalachian Trail. Beautiful place! The cabins are great and there are plenty of little hotels.

Pigeon Forge isn't bad either... lots to do there and the rooms are rather inexpensive! Again next to a National Forest.

I would vote for sometime in spring... maybe Easter!

Count me in! I can travel most anytime, but think late spring, early summer would be the best as far as weather goes. Helen is a great choice, as Scooter said...as is right here, Savannah! Then you get your choice of staying in a beautiful old city or out at the beach. (I'm pretty sure that it was Sage that was here a while back and loved it.) Grace's suggestion of D.C. is a good, too, or we could all converge on the wonderful town Hershey, PA! And even though I've haven't been there yet, I've heard great things about Gatlinburg, TN.

There are many other wonderful places and hopefully more people will post and throw out some other ideas.

I've done this in the past with a group I use to chat with, it was TOO much fun! (45 of us met in Ohio and went to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, golfing and definitely a lot of 'partying'.)

I'm starting a new job Monday, but if I could arrange the time off, yes, I would commit. Actually I'm moving to the DC area which might be a fun place for everyone to come to and I know there are folks here from Maryland, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, so it's 'doable'...now for the folks from 'across the pond' I'm not sure, but would love having everyone ...bring the sleeping bags! *w* lol

EDIT: Helen GA is really a nice place! (Daughter lives nearby) just thought we might want a bit of life to the trip....Helen would be great if you just want an out of the way and into the woods location, it's beautiful!

Oh My!!... I envy you SO much if you get to do this, the place Scooter describes, Helen Georgia sounds like heaven, sadly I could never afford a trip like that, plus my terror of flying.... but I would be with you in heart and mind, I really hope you can pull this off, you will have so much fun meeting each other, I'm really exited for you!! and I insist you will tell me all about your trip with photos and details of all the fun you will have...xx

I'm up for a meet...Neb.is a bit far flung for me...but anywhere on the east coast would be great...I've done this type of thing before and really enjoyed it!....Savannah, GA is a great place to meet...lots of fun, beach nearby, good food and they have a old music on stage revue that is to die for!

I'd come like a shot. But I am also in aussie. Someone else and myself were trying to arrange something like this a few months ago. But wait until after Christmas, it is our holidays down in the Southern Hemisphere.

In fact, with the weather you poor gus are having, wait till spring.

I would love to do this and I am free to travel. Just put me on the list. As long as I know a couple of months in advance then I should be fine,

I could go to either Gatlingburg Tn, or Helen Ga. ,, time is no object.

I think it's a wonderful idea, but since I'm only semi retired and my husband is not yet retired I don't think that we qualify. It would be nice to put real faces to all the screen names and get to know all of the nice people here.

Well if I could I would. In a heartbeat. But I have no idea what I will be doing then or if I will even still be living here. I have no money to do stuff like that but if I did I would be there like Speedy Gonzales.
