Many people who want to learn to play the piano are put off by the idea of spending long, boring hours learning music notes. If you are serious about learning to play the piano, the first thing you will need to do is put those negative thoughts behind and start with an open mind. Read here https://tinyurl.im/aHKJ4 It does take time and yes, you have to learn the music notes, but it does not have to be boring, and it certainly does not have to take forever before you learn to play on your own. Follow these seven steps carefully, and you’ll be playing your first songs independently in a very short time.

HI there, Good question. Well, I have a technique that I use with my students, both piano and flute. When learning a new song, I require my students to practice ONLY one line a day.... meaning they are required to devote all practice time to just one line every day. That way they are not worried about the whole song and can concentrate on getting one line sounding good and without mistakes. I know this sounds like it would be taking a long time with just one line a day... but I explain to my students that it is better and FASTER to get one line worked through and accomplished and sounding good by the end of the day's practice than to have the whole song sounding bad at the end of the week, which is going to be what will happen if they don't work slowly. I always say..."slower is faster" meaning the more time you focus on short segments, the faster that you will get the song sounding really good. Hope I was able to make some sense to you. Thanks for reading.

Classical music gets more complex as time goes on (until minimalism which isn't totally simple but it's not as complex as bartok, rachmaninoff etc) so that's fairly hard to help you with. There's some simple romantic stuff but you'd probaly put that with beethoven. The main thing that comes to mind is Erik Satie (one of my all time favorite piano composers). I think (I'm no Piano expert, but I'm fairly certain) that Trois GymnopEdies is very easy (I know it is on guitar). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBiPQKK1upk&feature=related
If you didn't want classical you shouldn't have posted in the classical section.

Imagine by John Lennon is a personal favorite. Good piano part, pretty simple but memorable, beautiful song.

Nadia's Theme is a fun and rather easy one that I learned when I was younger and still enjoy playing because it is so pleasing to the ears.

Good luck and have fun!
