mini refrigerator acts like a freezer?

I have a Avanti mini refrigerator (Model # 17-7 RC/RW) which has a bad thermostat. It freezes and so I cannot control the temperature to use it as a refrigerator. The manufacturer says the unit is outdated and so they do not sell any parts. Any suggestions as to how to resolve this problem.

It may be better to pitch it out and purchase a more up to date fridge.

There might be a universal thermostat that works with any brand. Ask an appliance repairman.
