I almost always get money back. But that is because I'm self employed and can claim a lot of deductions. Money back is not something you usually want. The best scenario is actually paying nothing, and getting nothing back, because it means your money is working for you, not for Uncle Sam. Although, I suppose if you have a hard time saving money, it might be a good way to 'force' yourself to save money.

Most people I know get refunds. The people who really handle their money well, owe at tax time. The logic...why let the government use your money interest free.

I try hard to get a SMALL amount back. No sense in loaning the Feds money, but don't want a big burden in the spring, either.

I always get a refund- I'm a single grandma raising a grandson. We always use our refunds (my daughters and I) to take a great family vacation! We went to England for 2 weeks last summer- Disney World this summer and France/Holland in '09!!!!
