Instead, Bush has become Mr. Relevant, and it's almost entirely due to the political malpractice of Pelosi and Reid.
George Bush should send nice Christmas cards to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. The pair have done more for Bush's reputation that the three Republican-controlled Congresses that preceded the 110th.
Who'd have thought it, Pelosi and Reid have transformed Bush into a spending hawk. In the first five years of his presidency, Bush could barely find his veto pen. Now, however, freed of the burden of defending a free-spending Republican Congress, Bush has discovered his inner Reagan and decided to fight for budgetary discipline -- and the Democrats realize that they can't beat him.
Perhaps Bush should send them some holiday fruitcake as well.
What say you?

For Cons are Below:
Obviously Reid and Pelosi flunked civics class.
I understand that without a veto proof majority, nothing can be passed. Apparently Reid and Pelosi didn't fully understand this, when they made the statement I eluded to.

If the American voters had voted in more democratic congressmen/congresswomen, we probably would be able to see some serious political play by the democrats. I hope we all have learned our lesson and will give the democrats a filibuster proof senate, but the real problem hasn't been with the Senate but the House. There are not enough democrats to override a Bush veto and there are only a very a few Republicans who have been voting with Democrats. The Republicans are purposely giving the democrats a hard time so that the can take back control in 2008. But the American people are too smart for them.

and that i think that none of this might have exceeded off besides? gas became decrease than a dollar whilst bush got here to place of work, deregulation became a appropriate precedence for the time of the 1st term and a nil.5 of the bush administration. the obtrusive consequences are the steep drop in the two the sock industry and client self belief. homestead fairness loses equivalent massive revenue to the companies that commerce in that area, are you able to do not forget "Enron". congress would not hire however the corporate worldwide does and that they are heavily allied to the republican celebration the spin device is actual working at finished speed for that end to be reached given what the republicans have carried out to the country. this question could be particularly humorous if it weren't so depressing. to me that is basically yet another clarification why conservative/republicans are to be view with suspicion, they are in no way to blame for any of the ills that face this united states of america even whilst the direction leads straight away back to here failed regulations.

Kinda ironic with all the initial fanfare and hoopla surrounding the stupendous Democratic "victory" in congress that we now have to most ineffective and irrelevant congress we have ever had in American history. Even Bushes approval rating is 23 points higher. Now the Dems are self imploding and pointing fingers at each other, but at least finally they are pointing their bony little digits in the "correct" direction!

Democrats never promised any such thing. That's absurd on the face of it, because the Democrats knew that they did not have "control" of Congress, but only a slight majority.
If you cannot over ride a veto, you cannot logically claim "control" of Congress.
Besides, your argument also fails on the basis of some Democrats being conservative or centrist. They do not vote as a block as the GOP tends to do.
The only real problem the Democrats have with Bush is that they don't know how to fight as dirty.

It's not due to Pelosi and Reid, but the fact that there isn't enough of a majority to override Bush vetoes through 2/3 vote. The majority is minimal.

Don't you know, it's all one big party with the agenda
Dumb down schools
Flood the country with illegals
NAFTA
Get the USA into deep debt
Bring the level of our living standards down, (only first world country with out health care)
It's taken both parties to do the above.

Evidently you flunked civics with pelosi and reid, because without enough votes to over-ride a bush veto the dems "control" nothing.

Sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side. Thanks for bringing that to my attention as i was still under the assumption that he was still on a "democrat" binge. Hang in there.

They have been too busy trying to stop freedom of speech and stop funding the troops to do any real work.
As far as them eating fruitcake that would technically make them cannibals, wouldn't it?
