Cuz don't transexuals dress like the oppsite sex? So do transexuals like the same sax as themselves? Or not always?

No it is not the same as gay. Being gay is a sexual orientation - it has to do with what the sex is of the people you are romantically and/or sexually attracted to.

Being transexual or transgendered means that the sex of your body doesn't match the way you feel about yourself. A person can realize they are transgendered long before they are ever interested in sex. A person who is transgendered can be gay, straight, or bisexual.

Some people who identify as transgendered or intersex actually have medical conditions which made it difficult to ascertain at birth what sex a person was and they were 'assigned' a sex that later on did not feel right to them as they got older and they want surgery to make them look more like a specific sex. Some people are very happy with their body and don't seek surgery, but may dress of a ex different than what they were "born".

Yes, they both come from the same place - ignorance, fear and hatred. Some people argue that racism and homophobia are different because you can choose to be gay but you can't choose to be a race/ colour. I disagree, most people are born with a predisposition to a certain sex. It is not something that they choose like a new car or washing-machine. ps - I have noticed that there tends to be a disportionate amount of homophobia in the black community (in the UK). This is so wrong. We should unite against all forms of bigotry and prejudice, not encourage it.

No, transsexuality is not the same as homesexuality.

Homosexuality is concerned with which people one is sexual attracted to, whereas transsexualism is concerned with a sense of one's self.

A person who is gay is someone who is sexually attracted to the same sex as themselves.

A person who is transsexual is someone who's sense of their own gender does not match their physical genitalia. A transsexual physically alters their bodies so that their physical appearance is more aligned with their gender.

A person's gender is independent of one's sexual orientation. One's "sex" is defined by if they have a penis or a vagina whereas one's "gender" is a sense of self. If you assume that sex and gender are the same, then you end up with silly notions such as "anyone who is sexually attracted to women must be a man."

Just as some people are gay and others are straight, some transsexuals are sexually attracted to men and some are attracted to women.

Transsexuals feel they have been born into the wrong sex. They can be gay or straight , men or women. They dress like the opposite sex because they feel that they are the opposite sex. Like anyone else they dress in a style that makes them feel comfortable

Transsexuals don`t just dress like women, they surgically are made into women. they claim to have been born in the wrong body. Transvestites on the other hand, only like dressing like a woman. Not all are gay.

the difference is gay or lesbian people enjoy being the sex they are born with and are attracted to people of the same sex. transsexuals were born with the bodies of one sex but on the inside they are the opposite sex.

No, transsexuals can be gay or straight or bi just like anyone else. Their issue is their own gender, not the gender they are attracted to.

the difference is gay or lesbian people enjoy being the sex they are born with and are attracted to people of the same sex. transsexuals were born with the bodies of one sex but on the inside they are the opposite sex. so they aren't technically gay, they are just in the wrong body for the sex they are.
