Ok. We want to start a band.. but we are not good in front of audiences.. How do we change that? And if we do start a band how do we get with a record label or something? I know auditioning and all that, but like I hear people getting spotted by agents and just go their merry little way. We want to be those people. We have gotten nowhere with this band and we want something.. Someone please help.

You say you're "not good" in front of people, but what do you mean? Do you mean that you all get stage fright or that you just have no charisma?

If it's the former you should start by performing for close family and friends to get over your fear. If it's the latter, I suggest watching concert videos of artists that you enjoy and thing have great stage presence and try to emulate them. If you pretend to have confidence long enough, you will.

Once you've got your band together and you've practiced so your songs are awesome and you have no fear of the audience, go out for open mic nights at local bars and clubs. Play anything, anywhere. As you get more well known around your town people will start inviting you to play other places. Not only will it be good practice, but you may be lucky enough to be seen by a talent scout.

But don't forget, you don't have to wait for the record companies to come to you, send them your home-produced cd! Some bands make it that way too.

If you are not good in fromt of people you cannot be very good not in front of people. YOu need more practice. Practice until you all are enjoying playing and want to share the fun with an audience. It's a bit early to think about record lables when you are afraid to play for people. Well, practice, practice , practice. That's the way. When you have practiced until you are good in front of people, then try to get some gigs.
