The cheapest place to start would be some fuel injector cleaner most old combustion enginse loose lots of power from clogged cabs/injectors. DONT use a whole bottle on your little gas tank though just like 1/4 or so. Also routeen stuff like spark plugs and wires can help, and definetly either clean or replace the air filter, clogged air filters will drain power. Those are the only cost effective tips I know. Good luck, and happy snowblowin.

Are you talking about the machine itself or the engine? If it is the engine, with the make and model of the engine you can get all the info you need at outdoordistributors.com. Maybe more specific questions would help us help you.

With the engine, a couple of things could make it run better. If it has points, changing them will help. The carburetor would be the other item. The best thing to do would be to remove it, disassemble and soak it in a good parts/carb cleaner. Once it is clean and all passages are clear put it back together with a rebuild kit. Also the normal maintanence should be done. Change the oil, fuel filter, air filter, sparkplug and if the machine has lube points do that.

I don't think Murrays are all that great. Just take it to a small engines shop and dump it off. Then go pick it up and pay the bill.
