50 watts sounds a bit low, what kind of enclosure is it in?

Those will only work for basking area to help keep your ig warm for the 12 hrs the lights are on.
You can use a house bulb 40w or higher depending on size of enclosure. If you ig has a big enclosure (6ft x 8ft x 4ft) then a flood light will work too. But if it's in a tank (hopefully nothing smaller then a 55 gallon tank if your ig is under a yr old), then that will work or a house bulb will work.
House bulbs produce enough heat for your ig w/out the expensive cost of pet store prices.
You will need to still supply your ig w/ it's UVB, these basking lights do not have UVB. CHE (ceramic heat emitters) produce no light just heat, work great for night. ReptiSun 10.0, Repti Glo 8.0 are the best for UVB, you can use Repti Glo 5.0. You should use 2 tubes. There is a distance that you should have the tube lights from your ig 5.0 and 8.0 are 6-8 inhces from your igs body, the 10.0 is 8-10 inhces from your igs body, you'll need to adjust as your ig grows.
Temps for igs should be ... never let drop below 70F ...
basking 92-96F if temp is too low digestion is slowed too high food digests too fast and nutrition is lost
medium/middle 88-92F
cool 75-84F
at night 73-84F

hi there
i wouldn't use those pet stores over price for stuff that u can get at a normal hardware store
for the basking light i would suggest to get a restaurant heat bulb they are only approx $3 for 2
for the UV lighting i would suggest to get a full spectrum plant grow florescent bulb(change every 6 month) $5-10 depending on the length of bulb
told by a reptile vet and been using this stuff for yrs and all our reptiles are very healthy .. much cheaper to replace and works the same...
hope this helps

Don't waste your money! Just use regular household bulbs in a reflector dome to produce the heat needed to reach recommended basking temps. Large Ig cages often require two bulbs. You still need to buy a reptile UVB bulb to provide the light spectrum critical for metabolizing calcium absorption.
