I always go to gamespot for video game reviews. I've had a PS2 for a long time and it always seemed like the site gave better reviews to Xbox. Now it's seems to favor 360 over PS3. Games for both platforms are always rated equal or higher for 360 (usually due to frame rate issues) and 360 exclusives are all rated better than PS3 exclusives. Exclusives don't bother me (but I do like Gears of War a lot) because I mostly play sports, but what's with the frame rate? Is it going to get better for PS3? Some people say PS3 just needs a little more time to work out some "bugs" and the games will get better, but most people I know are trying to convince me to get a 360 instead. Should I wait it out a little longer and see what happens or are some of these problems I hear about PS3s just being made up?

Nope, it isn't gamespot... it's just that the ps3's exclusives aren't as good as x360's exclusives (yet, at least). It isn't just framerate either... a lot of the ps3 games that were supposed to draw more people away from x360 were truly a huge disappointment. Take Lair, for example. The controls were so bad that at times it was nearly unplayable. IMO, playstation 3's outlook doesn't look too good yet. As far as I can tell, it doesn't have ANY killer app coming any time soon to change the consumer's mind (Metal Gear Solid 4 doesn't count, since it isn't a "mass appeal" kind of game). So unless you really, REALLY want to stick with ps3, I'd highly recommend x360 (mainly for its better online services).

If you have already made up your decision about getting the ps3- well, as for the ps3 issues/bugs, they can and will probably be fixed and developed on as different developers find out how to design games, based on the functions and capabilities of the playstation 3. They will probably start fixing the framerate issues as well, and games will look much better than they currently are. Don't look at now, look at the future, and all of the power and possibilities of the ps3.

The Xbox 360 is a great console as well. It currently has better games, and is favored more. For online, 360 is much more sofisticated and better. 360's selection currently is also larger and better.

Ultimately, it's ur own decision.

And the gamspot issue-- They aren't biased, its just opinions, it's ultimately ur own decision.

I've been a Playstation guy forever. I owned the X-Box, but only because I got it as a gift....hardly ever played it.

That being said, I think the 360s really are better, if, for no other reason, just because of the availability of games. Walk into any Gamestop and look at the walls. It never ceases to amaze me why the 360's wall is 3 times as large as the PS3's wall. Maybe the PS3 will catch up one day, but I definitely think that, at the moment, and for at least the next 6 months, the 360 is a better console.

I still own only a PS3 though! =)

If the sports games are EA made then they (EA) are claiming they haven't had the development kits for PS3 for as long as they've had the 360 ones, and so aren't as acquainted with its unique architecture. (remember the 360 has been out for longer than the PS3)
Some other developers have said the same thing, and given time, there will be little difference between the two.
You only need look at some of the cross-platform titles that're out soon which have no such differences, (see Burnout paradise and Unreal tournament III)

best plan was to get 360 a couple months earlier. Last another yr and a half being on top. Then ps3 will finally fix everything become what it made the ps2 so great.

definite the psthree is extra helpful than the Xbox 360. surely, in case you think approximately the effective factors on the PS3 this is not extra costly in terms of fee than the Xbox 360. as an occasion the PS3 has the Blu-ray participant outfitted in jointly as the equivalent HD-DVD participant for the Xbox 360 is bought one after the other for $two hundred. so as that best there is $599 it relatively is the same fee because of the fact the PS3 with 60GB difficult force and you in basic terms get a 20GB difficult force with the Xbox 360.

I personally think the Xbox 360 is much better. I don't see a huge difference from the PS3 to the PS2. It seems like just a new design.

Honestly i'd get the 360.
I have a 360 and a Wii and I absolutely love the 360. It has a great online marketplace as well as great games. (sure the online costs money, but its like 5 bucks a month)
You have Halo 3, bioshock, the orange box, and other sweet games

well, its natural that xbox versions get better ratings since the system is more powerful, the game can be improved much compared to the ps2. So, thats why they get better ratings than the ps2 versions
