Without knowing the specific circumstances -
If you're being asked what someone else said or what you heard, you can say, "I'd rather not say..." or "I really don't have enough information..." and stick to it. Gossip hurts and bites back.
If it's about how someone looks or how something looks on someone, "That just doesn't do you justice" or "That's not really working on you".
If it's about how you like something, "It's nice, but it's not my favorite" or "If I was into (whatever style or flavor it is), I would totally love that".
You can give an honest opinion if you give it tactfully and people will know what you like and respect you for being honest.
