This is a high school.... you need to get into college, then get into medical school to become a surgeon. Just focus on getting good grades in high school and doing well on SATs. You have a long way to go to being a surgeon.

Your school only offers two "majors" in the medical field. They are more like tracks not even majors. The biomedical one and the biotechnology one. You can chose either one that you find interesting. What will determine if you become a surgeon is how well you do in this high school. Once you graduate form high school you have to get into college that offer either biology, chemistry, neuroscience or any other major that will prepare you adequetly for the MCAT, you can techinically major in ANYTHING you want in college as long as you are prepared for the MCAT, you do not have to major in anything specific to get into medical school to become a surgeon.

I suggest you go see your high school advisor so they can explain to you the process by which to get into medical school.

There are lots of majors that work. My daughter just started in college this year with the intent of becoming a Pediatrician, and she is currently majoring in Math, but is thinking of switching to something else. Most people that are pre-med major in one of the sciences like Biology, but a significant portion are now majoring in other subjects like Economics or English. Go with whatever interests you the most. Biology would be a safe choice if you are not strongly attached to some other subject.

Since you are in high school focus on the sciences.

Then enter college and enter their premed program.

Then you apply for medical school. Getting into medical school is highly competitive. Go through medical school, do your internship then apply for a surgical residency.
