Which two would you say were most similar-rats and squirrels or rats and fish ? explain your answer, using as many specific traits as you can.

Rats and squirrels are similar. They both belong to the same biological family: Rodentia. They are rodents.

They are both mammals. And (except for the Mole Rat) they are endothermic.

Rats and squirrels are both mammals with all the ramifications of being such, fish are not.

You would have to back up to where vertebrates split off from other life forms to find common ground between a fish and either of the mammals you listed.
