so on both corners of my mouth are these things i'm assuming are some sort of cold sores.

they're kind of crusty (gross, i know) and almost orange-ish... it looks like i just ate doritos or something. and they really hurt too.

i just put neosporin on them. i really want them gone though, like ASAP.

a. what could they be?
b. how can i get rid of them?

please help! oh and no, i haven't made out with anybody or anything.

thank youuu

Maybe they are just a little dried out and became open cuts due to the dryness? I've had this happen once or twice in the winter, when its really dry and I sleep in a very dry room. Its like chapped lips, but on the side. I just put chapstick on it a few times and it heals.

Neosporin won't help. It is an antibacterial. Cold sores are viral.

I guess you could do what I did when I was a kid (when the dinosaurs weren't trying to eat me! LOL): Apply Campho-phenique. It is made from camphor oil and will help ease the discomfort, prevent the scabs from cracking by keeping them soft. Your local drug store should be able to help you.

caveat: Campho-phenique can tingle or even burn. It takes a little getting used to.

You may just have a vitamin or mineral deficiency.
