Seems that Christian Conservatives support Israel no matter what Israel does, which is certainly NOT a way to achieve peace.
I think they do this because of something in the Book of Revelations, so the second coming will happen sooner or something like that.
Of course, it depends on what faith you mean... I have faith in rationalism, reason, and science, not religion, and not in stories passed down for generations by illiterate savages, eventually written down, then added to [hundreds of years after the new events took place], translated badly several times in succession, and then edited for content [note that Catholic Bibles are NOT the same as Protestant Bibles].

No. Since there are very few Christians in the Middle East, they won't be wildly impressed by his faith. Also, the current faith-based President seems to be at least under the influence of those who want the region to become even less moderate, out of a belief that a major war there will bring about the Second Coming of Christ.

The way to cause moderacy, is to be moderate. Just like if a republican is president and has low support (take, right now for example). People don't react to this by being moderate. People react by becoming liberal.
I think a faith based president can help the middle east, but not if he is arrogant about his religion.

Uh no. If you are talking about about Mike Huckabee, definitely no cuz Muslims would only hate America more since we have a hardcore Christian guy as prez. In case you haven't noticed, Christians and Muslims are kind of at odds with each other.

There is no place for religion in politics. It is impossible to appease all religions/non religion. Government is set up to solve the people's problem. The place to find spiritual help is at a Church/masque/synagogue/nature/where ever.

It will only exacerbate the conflict due to the fundamental differences in religion e.g. Jewish vs Muslim .
