The need for morality. The Constitution does not mention "separation of church and state." You can separate the organized religions from the government, but you can not separate people from their religious beliefs. And as long as the government is not comprised entirely of atheists, religion will always have an influence.
However, that does not mean that we are moving towards a religious government; only that religious people are involved in the government. They always have been, and I expect they always will be.

When the people are afraid of the government, there is control.When government is afraid of the people, there is freedom........read some of Thomas Jefferson's quotes, he was a very smart humanitarian.........Less government, more freedom,.....what do we have?
