My opinion?
Both are too much for a beginner.

The Suzuki has about 100 horsepower the Yamaha about 123 both under 400 lbs. Compare that with a 1400cc Harley at 750 lbs with 60 horsepower.
Kid, that kind of power to weight ratio is gonna get you in trouble real fast. Start with something reasonable and live to enjoy something scary fast when you have earned the right by developing your skills.

contrary to popular opinion, a 600cc sportbike is not too much power, youll be fine. Im partial to Suzukis just because Ive raced them for so long, and my GSXR1000 race bike is 189 horse power, so that kinda makes me biased, but honestly my first bike was a CBR600, excellent bike, reliable as hell and you could beat the crap out of it, I musta wrecked that thing 5 times before I totaled it, excellent bike to learn, Suzukis are faster but they are much more fickle, you have to know what your doing and treat them right, or theyre not going to treat you kindly, Im not a fan of Yamaha because of the performance , but the new ones are cool lookin.
PS- DO NOT get the GSXR for stuntin youll burn out the motor, oil pickup is not designed to be standing on the rear wheel for extended periods, but for that matter neither is the yamaha, if you want a stunt bike get a honda, mucho better for that.
PSS- dont let the harley guys discourage you, they were just born with a different mindset.

Beginner? Buy whichever one you want. Leave the wreckage to someone you love in your will.
i.e. They're both far too powerful for a beginner.
Of the two, the GSX is more sport oriented. The Fazer is fantastically smooth and flexible though.
But honestly, you WILL crash it. Buy whichever one has the cheapest repair costs.

" I only want the opinions of people I agree with!"
Next you'll be saying, "I don't want to hear from people who tell me not to wheelie!" followed by, "Maybe I shouldn't have stomped on the rear brake lever in a panic..."
