The lyric goes:
There goes sweet Lucy
Down along the Tracks
Lost her home and family
and she won't be coming back

(Main verse repeated):
Without Love
Where would you be now?

I thought it was the Doobie Brothers, but can't confirm.

The reason why this song is important to me:
During my troublesome times during a teen, the words of a young girl along the tracks because she had no love, following by
"without love, where would you be now?"
would snap me back into perspective and remind me of the great love my family always held for me,
and to NOT run away from my problems.
But to face those giants, bears, and fears.
