do you think the rich and powerful control the media? this can be in terms of powerful governments. If so, how do we know what kinda crimes are going on or being endorsed by a government?
Does the media not have to comply or shut the hell up. I heard a arab newstation; Al Jazeera i think got bombed twice by US fighter jets lol. Talk about freedom of speech

Drop the ed and add "ing". They use many methods to exert control.

The 'mass' media: papers, magazines, TV & radio, never cease to amaze me. As I am now in a position where I believe absolutely nothing that comes out of any mass media outlet, I can actually see and notice the blatent innacuracies and contradictions that are present every single day. What amazes me the most is, as the reporting is so frequently contradictory to what they have reported previously, both implied as truthful, then why can't anybody see it. (There is something called ELF waves that you're going to have to research yourself, and which I think is how they do it) The mass media is a device used to control the planet's populations. Governments use the mass media to manipulate their population into allowing them to do whatever they wish. The mass media was used by Hitler to change a very decent German majority into a hateful group of people which would perform anything that he desired. Something similar is being done in a country on this planet presently. It's a big country. 600 million people. They think of little else other than God and sport and money.

Yes. By the profit motive. That requires the media to draw a crowd so they can have a captive audience to sell stuff to. It also diverts our attention into worrying what sort of crimes a government is engaged in without ever questioning the absolute lack of ability for the media to ever find something like that in the first place.
Since the accidental bombing of the Al Jazeera building in Baghdad happened in March or April of 2003, it appears your media sources move with the rapid pace of snails.

Of course. The journalists need a job, they need money to live, as we all do, what they write is subject to editorial censorship, so they have a hard time getting their info out there.
Papers are subject to circulation, i.e. which equals profits to pay wages. Sad fact of life.
if they write the wrong thing, they are probably subject to the West's equivalent of the "Gulags". Not just the papers but other media as well, tv, radio.
This goes on all over the world.
Media is a very good propaganda tool.

I have long believed that our news is filtered by the Government who ever is in power. For a true reflection look at foreign news,as for what crimes are being committed in our name,it is probably covered by the Official Secrets act. When governments will not release documents from world war one, under the excuse there may still be survivors, you have wonder allot
