You know, yeast infection, or something..

I am just worried although I feel no symptoms.. what are the symptoms by the way?

I don't smell anything bad or feel anything not okay, I am just plain worried about my lifestyle and hygiene (although I am somewhat confident that it's fine and I am clean)

What are the tips to prevent from getting it? Because I thought of them as rare cases, and they are for those who are just really dirty, but I thought wrong, now I am scared of getting it

I am eighteen by the way (just have to tell you that for some reason I guess that you are wondering hehe)

Yeast infections can happen for many reasons.
1. antibiotics for other infections can cause them
2. douching too much can cause them
3. alergic reactions to latex codoms or toys can cause them
4. they can just happen out of the blue

It really doesn't have anything to do with hygiene however I guess if you don't take care of your self you might be more prone to get them.

The symtoms are buring itching, a cottage cheesy looking discharge and a real fowl smell.

Your "down there" area has this yeast all the time it is a natural bacteria that is actually good for you down there, its just when there is some irritant that causes it to go "wild" and then you have what is called a yeast infection.

Ways to prevent them??? I have heard that if you eat yogurt it helps because it keeps the balance of the good bacteria in you system.

They are nothing to be scared of... they are irritating and annoying... but with OTC medicine and a few days they go away. No perminent damage done.

Actually a pap smear does not tell you if you have an infection...it only tests the cells of your cervix for any change that could be cancer related. To be checked for an infection the Doctor will swab the walls of your vagina and take some discharge with it. A Wet Mount test can be done in office to determine if you have Trichomonas or just Bacterial Vaginitis (which can be caused from douching). To be checked for Chlamydia or Gonorrhea the samples will have to be cultured and sent to a lab. You can get your results usually within 48-72hrs. More women than not are asymptomatic (without symptoms)...if you are sexually active and you have had unprotected sex anytime in your life you should be tested. Yeast infections typically produce a white cottage-cheese like discharge....you will know if you have one of those vs anything else.

I recommend getting educated on things you are concerned about. I hate seeing someone on here giving advice when they don't know what they are talking about.

The best way in knowing for sure whether you have a infection or not is to go to the gynecologist and get a pap smear test. It's a cotton cuttip swap around your area and they run tests to see if are any. You can also suggest to get an HIV test if you want. I understand because I want to know also but some diseases such as gonnrhea can very harmful to your health and you may experience no symptoms untill it is too late.

well if you had the yeast or vaginal infection you would see something not so good in your underwear and smell something not too good...but there is also time you get discharge which is nothing wrong with that....no people say if you have sex you can get the infetions but actually theres more to it sex, scented pads/tampons, certain soaps, and much more you can call a dr. office if you dont want to make an appt. and ask for more tips or look online....it is actually more common than you think its not about being dirty or clean or higene..anyone and everyone can get it...

something outstanding for you. unusual shade discharge (yeast an infection) Fishy scent (bacterial garderella) Going to the bathing room lots better than commonplace (urinary tract) Chunky discharge (yeast an infection) in case you're worried approximately an STD, it takes longer for a woman to word indicators than a guy. See a doctor and tell her your concerns so she would be able to do blood artwork.

You sound good to me.

If you feel clean, no pain, stinging, itching or odor. I would say you are good.
