I'm referring to the Mitchell Report on steroids, of course...

I'm a Red Sox fan and even though I thought he was arrogant, egotistical, and even played for the Yankees, I still admired his stats and awards over 45 years.

Now, my thoughts that he must have been doing something illlegal to play at the pace and dominance he has for the last many years comes out!

He is just as pathetic as Bonds, McGuire, Palmero, and the rest of the phoneys.......

Even though some of the substances were not banned during the years he took them it still gave him an advantage over players playing fairly. Plus, imagine the money Clemens made while taking the illegal drugs and the awards and stats he took over in the history books????
Clemens, you get an asterick from me........

Clemens has denied through his lawyer this evening of ever taking anything????? Yeah, because he knows it can't be proved physically at this point but we all knew he was doing something.....
Why can't they all come clean like Canseco and Giambi????

It is was it is and it was a time when a lot of players were obviously doing it............

Mick 7: Are you that naive that you think that no one took steroids or illegal performance enhancing drugs?????
The Mitchell report is not trying to prosecute anyone but to reveal the problem of these drugs and abuse not just by athletes who are role models but to average people who take them recreationally!!!!!!!
The report states were the information came from so we can all judge the report ourselves.
Your statement about how you think Bonds may be "innocent" tells a lot about you. Bonds is being prosecuted with evidence. There is a diffference if you didn't know.

Jackie R. : Please stop with the race factor. Clemens is just hearsay from a former trainer with no physical proof. Well, they have physical proof on Barry and he most likely perjured himself. Let's see. Barry did poster and ad's for BALCO, his trainer had a doping schedule for BB, etc......
There is a difference between the 2 but I grew up with Clemens pitching here in Boston and am not surprised like I wasn't when I heard about Barry doing them. I hope neither gets into the HOF!

I am just waiting to see if America treats Roger like they did Bonds. My first guess would be no.... They both did the similar things but I believe the black athlete is always held at a much higher standard. As for those who don't see this please open your eyes or better yet don't because it's very sad.

What does it prove? Some locker room jock with a police record from lying to the grand jury makes a dozen unsubstantiated innuendos. I downloaded the report and have been reading it. There is nothing but circumstantial evidence. There is nothing concrete in over 400 pages of BS!

99% of the report is nothing but rehassed information that most of us already knew. It's a "He said, She said" scenario. In 20 months Bud Selig authorized approximately 50 million dollars for this "witch hunt". It's crap and Selig should pay for it out of his own pocket.

These SOB's, by throwing out these names without any real proof, have probably ruined the players careers. What happens when most of these people are proven to be innocent of these innunendoes? These are not even charges by the government. They don't even have the authority to make any charges. What does that tell you about this piece of crap they call the "Mitchell Report"?

After reading what I've read I'm beginning to believe than even Bonds may have a case. It's a sad day for baseball. Politicians should stick to politics and stay the hell out of other peoples business.

Actually, I'm not shocked. Look at pictures of Clemens early in his career and look at pictures of him over the last 5-10 years. Players in their late 30s and early 40s don't normally add muscle-mass like Clemens has.
Everyone pokes fun at the size of Barry Bonds head (a result of his steroid use), look at Roger's noggin! His head is so large, it seems like he should have a moon circling that planetoid.

well i am an astros fan so to say am i a clemens fan......ummm, it a love/hate of course. but i am not surprised by the report. i am not surprised to see him or andy petitte on the list. ironically the astros lastest acquisition, tejeda is also named. but roger clemens is still the same guy in my book. i just hope he feels the same fire that people have been giving barry bonds.

Not much... a tad disappointed, but it was (at the time, and possibly still today) very much in keeping with baseball's underground culture. I'll get over it no later than the weekend, I'm sure.

But then, I don't invest a lot of emotion in baseball and don't really care what the players are like as individual people. I just enjoy watching them play baseball and perform on the diamond.

The Report could be false. If it turns out to be true, then it sucks. It doesn't feel good to have one of your favorite players be accused of taking steroids. However, my all time favorite player is Don Mattingly. A Red Sox executive started the report, so the Red Sox could be out to get the Yankees. The Mick #7 nailed it though. Give him the best answer.

It hasn't changed a thing in how I view him. I'll always remember Roger as that gentle soul who through the broken bat at Piazza and, despite the fact that it was akin to throwing a splintered stake that could seriously have injured Mike, inexplicably wasn't tossed from the game. (-:

I don't really feel anything different. What I want to see is if Clemens gets anywhere near the same scrutiny as Bonds did. They both played great past their primes, both won multiple post season awards, both are unfriendly to the press. But one is black, and one is white. I don't think the asterik question will come up with Clemens like it has with Bonds.

A lot of people are not surprised, including me.

Does he change the way I feel about him? No. I always thought he was very pompous and I still feel that way.

The day could not have gone much better for Bonds.
