I don't live in St. Louis, but I know some about it, so I'll try to help you.

http://www.stltoday.com/ has classifieds for apartments, jobs, and cars. I don't see how you can buy a car without a license. I don't think you can do that anywhere in the U.S.If you have a license in Guam and are just transfering it to the U.S. or something (not sure if you can do that or not) then maybe you can get a car.

http://stlouis.missouri.org/housing/resources/index.html has links about finding apartments and jobs.

The lifestyle of St. Louis is very sports-oriented, especially baseball. St. Louis also apparently has a pretty active nightlife. But if you're going to venture into St. Louis at night, wait until you know the city a little better. Also, parts of north St. Louis can be a bit violent, so if a neighborhood looks rough (or rundown) I'd stay out of there, especially at night.

Parts of St. Louis city can be dangerous, but usually the area around downtown is alright. And the suburbs are usually okay. It's mostly some of the northern parts with drugs, gangs, and violence. Just use common sense. If a place looks scary, it probably is.

This time of year you'll find the Blues (hockey) and the Rams (football).

AOL has a guide of the local bars and nightclubs, if you like the nightlife - http://cityguide.aol.com/stlouis/bars

St. Louis also has a lot of museums and fun things to do. The meseums and the zoo are free, and a lot of other things are cheap.

http://www.builtstlouis.net/arch.html is a fascinating site with pictures of the different neighborhoods.

St. Louis in general is a good city. There are some areas to stay out of, but stay around downtown and tourist areas and you should be fine. If you know someone who lives in St. Louis that would be helpful as well. St. Louis is known for sports, especially baseball, and Blues music (where the St. Louis Blues hockey team got their name from). Collinsville, Illinois is trying to get an MLS (soccer) team as well. St. Louis also has a particular style of pizza (thin crust), toasted ravioli, a particular cut of ribs, and lots of Italian restaurants. Baseball players Yogi Berra, Joe Garagiola, and Ryan Howard are from St. Louis (sure there's more, but those 3 come to mind).

East St. Louis, Illinois can be kind of rough in parts, too.

http://www.apartmentcities.com/St-Louis-Apartments/ may also help you in your apartment search. St. Louis real estate is fairly cheap right now, which should work to your advantage.

By the way, here's the Raintree apartments:

Woodson apartments: http://www.rent.com/rentals/missouri/st-louis-and-vicinity/st-louis/449041/
They apparently have more info, but they want you to sign up. I don't know the site, so I don't have an opinion on that.
Here's another site about it: http://www.everyaptmapped.com/apartments/overland,missouri,mo/woodson+park.html

Anyway, good luck, and don't rush getting an apartment if you don't have to. Might be a good idea to look up information about the apartments and area if you can.

Raintree is in the phone book at that address.

Woodson Park I did not find in the "apartments" listing of the phone book.

I don't believe you can buy a car when you don't have a driver's license, but you can probably get the license pretty easily if you have a Guam license already. As to second-hand cars, there's a free magazine that's all over town that lists cars, and used car lots everywhere in the near suburbs.

St. Louis is actually a fascinating place. It's a bunch of different cities all in St. Louis County, but they tend to get called St. Louis by the post office. For example, I actually live in University City, but you'll never find the line dividing it from St. Louis City because it's all urban. University City is very nice.

The lifestyle depends a great deal on what part of town you live in, and how much money you have. But there's plenty to do and see. I will put a couple of interesting links below for you.

I would not make a decision on an apartment until I had a job. Both of these apartments are on the north end of town which may be reasonable for rent but may not be the safest. You will need to have a drivers license to buy and operate a motor vehicle and will also have to have insurance. Second hand cars can be found in the classified ads of the Post Dispatch, on Craigs List and also from new car dealers who have a used car selection. St. Louis is a fun city and rather laid back. Lots of ethnic and interesting areas and great museums and other things to see for free or very low cost. My suggestion would be to find an apartment in south St. Louis city. They are reasonable and most have access to public transportation. You can find lots of them advertised on Craigs List. After you get a feel for the city, find a job and get a drivers license, you can always decide if you would like to move to another area. Welcome to our city.

You have left out the most important piece of information. WHY are you coming to St. Louis? Job? School? WHERE? That will play a big factor in where you should look.

"St Louis" is all spread out over several counties and both sides of the Mississippi in 2 states. There is public transportation, but it's limited. We could better advise you if your provided some details. Otherwise, this advice here is really of no value.
