I am not looking for liens such as mortgages, but other liens placed on a property by a creditor.

Liens are recorded in the recorders office at the county seat. If it is not on record it is worthless.

This SHOULD be a relatively simple thing to do, and I tried to get to the right page on your county website for you (I do this a lot).

But Dauphin County, PA has the LEAST user-friendly website I've ever seen!

I got as far as the link below, but couldn't get into the site. You can click on the link and see if you can access the records.

Maybe it's my browser and you'll be able to get in...who knows!

use the tax assessor's office and the property recorder's office to find out who owns the property.

then you search [online if possible or else in person] the property records for all entries relating to that owner(s) and check the address/description to be sure it is the target property.

or else you hire the job done from a title company.

i believe it is called a Title search.there are people who do this..................check with a real estate office.............
