there are at least 30 islands in nyc.
manhattan, staten island, governor's island, liberty island, ward's island, riker's island, city island, the chimney sweeps islands, randall's island, roosevelt island, hunter island, twin island, columbia island, etc.
i've been to about half of them so far =]

Two: Manhattan is an island, and Queens and Brooklyn are on Long Island which is an island. There is also Roosevelt Island, Governeur's Island, Ellis Island and Liberty Island but I don't know if those are what you are seeking.
