I heard that was true. Is it? If that is the case, then my POOR parents! They have been together for almost 31 years, they must really not be liked by the world! ;-) I'm not trying to brag but what is up with all these people are are committing extramarital sex??! I know the world is now kind of morally on the other side, but really, is marriage really not the thing to do anymore? Geez, and I was looking forward to my wedding day =(.

Hey, don't sweat it.
I'm engaged. I believe that marriage is essential and will be the happiest and most important day of my life (besides child birth, whenever that happens).
A lot of people have lost the meaning of marriage along the way because of the generation that we live in now. But, there are still people out there like my fiance & I who believe in marriage and believe that if there are problems in a marriage you should always communicate, talk things out, compromise, and if worse comes to worse seek counseling.
I think people divorce so much more now because they don't realize how big of a step Marriage truly is and they just rush into things without analyzing or thinking things through.

Isn't this so sad?

My parents' 29th wedding anniversary is this upcoming Sunday. My inlaws have been married for just as long too. Perhaps this is why my hubby and I are very faithful in our marriage and love being married so much - we have seen two examples of how great marriages can be.

I think it is really disappointing to hear so many people talk about how 'pointless' marriage is or that it's 'just a piece of paper'. I think this is a sad turning point in our society. People don't know what they are missing.

Sure marriage is hard work and often challenging - but those are the types of things in life that are always the most rewarding and the most important. :)

watch the movie "idiocracy" all times head to a kind of dark ages and then there's a cleansing and an age of light. It's a cycle. In India, they call it Kali Yuga.

All I can say is get some for of meditation//mantra chanting (e.g. Hare Krishna Mantra) and do like 10 minutes a day for added protection to not be a statistic. Ancient sakskri words have a healing vibration, just like certain classical music, like Baroque, can be very relaxing on heart/blood pressure, etc.
