Listening to a boring news caster,or my favorite who-done-it,because for some reason I can stay woke all the way to the climax, but then for some unknown reason fall asleep before I find out WHO DID IT! Then I have to wait until it comes on again, because I never think to record the program until its too late, and then the whole process starts ALL OVER AGAIN(smile)!

Boring answer coming up. Breathing, deep breathing. In through the nose, out through the mouth and don't let your mind wander. Really concentrate on feeling the air circulate. If you really want to get to sleep that's a perfect way. O.K death is a "perfect" way to get to sleep but it's a one off solution.

Reading a book or when really tired, watching TV. Of course, TV is stimulating, so I have to be ready to fall down. I always read a page or two before sleeping, though. It is a routine that works for me.

Heres an unusual
one, sometimes when i can't sleep i eat a spoon of peanut butter, it has something in it that naturally helps you fall asleep.
Also a glass of warm milk often does the trick.

I listen to the Harry Potter audio books read by Stephen Fry on my mp3 player. He has a lovely voice that lulls you into peacefulness!

This is really, really weird, but you asked. I pretend that I am a cashier at a grocery store. I go through the motions of checking out groceries...then I fall asleep. Maybe because it is so boring....who knows, but it works so I don't question it.
