I don't really have any problem with gay people, some of my friends are gay, but I was just wondering what people thought on the subject. I think that they shouldn't get married because in the definition of marriage it says the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc. but I still think that they should beable to be united just not from the church. The reason why I'm asking this question is because some of my friends are for gay marriages and others aren't, and I just want to see if one side has more supporters than the other. If you could tell me why you are for or against gay marriages that would be great, so what's your opinion?

I am all for them... It is not fair that they cannot not have the same legal rights as a husband and wife, because alot of them love each other just as much, and the love is just as valid, and the support in this matter should be reflected though the laws of society's, and it disappoints me very much that it is not...

I understand, if a religion who is against gays, as part of there beliefs, does not want something they believe is wrong entering there church... That is there prerogative... But The 'Marriage' of two people, no matter what sex, should be allowed, and I find it ridiculous with all the progress that has been made so far, that is its not...

How can they say its politically incorrect to make fun/torment gay people for being gay, but still stand against gay marriage? How can they recognize how strong there love can be, and still refuse to give them the same basic legal rights as other couples?

Marriage and gays have been around a lot longer than any religion. I don't see why it's NOT right for gays to marry. If the church doesn't want to support that, it doesn't have to and that's the church's decision.

The definition of marriage as you give it (and of those who oppose gay marriage) implies that a couple must have the RELIGIOUS ceremony to be considered a marriage, and that civil ceremonies performed by a justice of the peace (not a priest or a rabbi) are invalid.

I am for same sex unions getting recognized by the law so that committed gay couples can get health insurance coverage and get to visit each other in hospitals, but I don't have a problem with it not being called a marriage or being done only as a civil ceremony (performed in a courthouse, not a church). I don't think the institution of heterosexual marriage is threatened by gays getting same sex unions legally recognized.

How funny that you would be against gay people getting married because of the dictionary definition for marriage when you have not problems using a word for homosexuals that didn't originally have the dictionary definition for homosexuality.

If they want to get married, I say let them. I feel no less married if they do, and do not think that they will lessen the institution of marriage. If a religion has no problems with including homosexuals in their ceremonies for marriage, I say let them, not all religions are against it.

I am personally for their right to marry and live happy lives. How they spend their time at home and in the privacy of their bedroom is none of anyones business but their own. A man made law should include the happiness for all people not just a few. The Constitution states that All Men Are Created Equal it does not say anything about "as long as you are not gay." Whom are we to choose who is allowed to be happy and who is not.

I am against gay marriage or gays in general but here is a good factor
They are gods creatures and we have no right to judge them or try to tell them how to live there life.
I am sure I do things that some people may or may not think is right.

We are all human we don't have the right to judge anyone if we don't like something or somebody we should just keep our distance.

fairly, gays marrying straights! Our Christianity-based society has traditionally valued appearances over substance. i be attentive to quite a few gay adult males who married women persons interior the desire that they could tension themselves to be immediately, or got here from sheltered backgrounds the place marrying a woman became the only determination supplied to them. attempting to brainwash a individual into being somebody they don't seem to be- to thrill others- is a undeniable recipe for melancholy and loneliness, and as all of us be attentive to, such negativity is absolute to rub off on those around them. All led to divorce, some extra amicable than others, all to the detriment of the infants. As for extending civil protections to gay families- there is no question that that is something that society desires to handle, the two now or whilst that is going to become a social disaster- like whilst we see extra families chop up up or lose their properties whilst one better half dies, and we initiate throwing seniors out on the streets because of the fact they stayed at homestead to boost their childrens and have no entitlement to their existence better half's social risk-free practices survivor advantages.

I don't care. If they are happy, it shouldn't matter. Just because someone chooses to be gay doesn't make them less of a person. When you think about it, someone is the male/female equivalent in the marriage. So what's wrong with them having the same rights as non gay folk.?

I don't think some straight people should be allowed to married. I also think that the marriage age should be raised to 21. And lastly, I think gays should be allowed to be married. After all, marriage doesn't have to be confined to just the church. Besides, the church is full full of assholes and *******. Not to mention God is the devil who is a **** head.

I believe that you should be able to marry whoever you love. Some people say its against their religion but its not their place to decide. If a person wants to be gay thats between them and god. Not anyone else.
