With the Mitchell report today, baseball again is proving the only thing it cares about is getting the fans in the seats. I think the people in upper management all the way to Bud himself knew this going on for a long time. After the strike season they needed the records to be challange and broke. The message they send out to the fans is we don't care about the history of the once great game and we don't care about the message we send to the fans and their kids.

You nailed it. They were so desperate to get fans back after they ruined what was shaping up to be an amazing season (1994) they wouldn't have cared if every player in the league began shooting up. I thought I'd miss the MLB more than I do, and though I was thinking about coming back a couple of years ago, the steroids scandal hit. Too bad because I really would've liked to see Ichiro play. Selig won't do a thing but hope this blows over. All I can say is good riddance to baseball and FORZA MILAN!

NO. Sometimes pregnancy just happens. Not to go into detail, but I know 2 women who both were taking all sorts of precautions, including medical style precautions, and both still ended up getting pregnant. It's unfair to tell the players, "Listen, you can only have sex with your wife/girl friend during these particular months because if pregnancy does happen you wont have to miss a game or two." Get off your high horse and let these men become daddies when they want to, besides it not really any of your business.

I stopped watching baseball a long time ago because I found that the majority of the players were just a bunch of over paid babies. It seems that like everything else in America baseball has become just about the money. Look at the Yankees!

Baseball has always been a business and most of us have never been fortunate to watch it when it was "a sport". Now with these allegations and lists of players doing "wrong", it's taken another step away from that "sport" designation.

I wish I could have watched baseball when smoking, alcohol, loose women and breaking curfew were the only vices staining the game.....

Well this could be true but i tend to disagree. I think that they might have known but in the sense that they didn't, they are doing the right thing now in addressing the issue up front. I think the use of steriods is insane and the commisioner should do whatever it takes to rid baseball of it.

perfectly put, I'm not a baseball fanatic more (basketball) and even I kinda thought the same thing. Obviously like any major sport in America its nothing but business, but wow....this is a low for baseball!!

The better question would be does the NFL keep slapping fans in the face.

I don't agree. There will always be baseball fans as long as there is baseball.
