Should beach rebuilding occur?and is it well worth the time and money to repair eroded beaches?Florida's main sources of income is because of tourism , and without the beaches we will lose a main source of revenue. so what do you think?

It sounds like you pretty well answered your own question.
My initial reaction is, Yes, I think we should rebuild beaches. They are not only a source of pleasure for us humans, but a natural part of the eco-system, as well.

I am not sure what takes the place of a beach when it gets eroded, though. Maybe THAT is something that we can enjoy and something that contributes just as much to the eco-system in a different way. After all, I am sure that the sea STILL contacts the shore in those places.

Before you ask whether it should, you have to determine whether it is possible. There are good reasons for believing that it may not be.

If it is possible, what are the costs? If they are too high, then even losing an important source of revenue is not a good enough reason to do it.

Furthermore, when considering costs, it is not just the short term monetary costs, but the environmental costs as well.

For example, the Everglades has been important to Florida but that hasn't prevented Floridians from destroying it.

Also note that beach erosion is often accompanied by beach creation elsewhere. Maybe the beach-dependent activities should just move?

Another question is whether or not tourism should continue to be promoted as an important source of revenue. Most tourist destinations suffer long term degradation - a classical tragedy of the commons situation.

In summary, I think your focus on short-term tourist income is dangerously short-sighted.
