fantasy or real-life stories?
I prefer real life-or at least what could be real life.

Fantasy is the love of my eldest daughter and her sons. I never really got into that genre.

Real-life stories...not too much on bios, except for a select few, but do like stories that are 'real' that speak of folks' trials and tribulations and how they overcame them and who in their lives served as role models and inspirations.

I'm also into 'real' crime...done novel style like Capote's In Cold Blood...don't ask me why! I am not a frustrated murderer for certain - I am just fascinated by how warped the human mind can get. Guess that's why I wanted to be a clinical psychologist.

Fantasy. I have found that for every real-life story out there there are two more with different opinions on the same subject. So, I tend not to read them, because it seems so much like rant by an author trying to get people to believe he is right and everyone else is wrong. Just my opinion though.

Real life, a lot of biographies. It was interesting to know that Veronica Lake was schizophrenic. She hid this devastating illness quite well while becoming one of the most famous actresses of her time. One of the books I read about her said that she was so beautiful that even some of the stars would stop eating in the commissary when she walked in just to gaze at her.
I also like historical biographies. I am reading a new book now about Louisa May Alcott and her family, mainly her father.

Fantasy, real life stories are more like reading gossip.

I enjoy a fantasy book now and then, but I find that real life is far more amazing. I usually read historical non-fiction. If the writer is good, it beats any novel. I like historical fiction if it's really historical.
