As though this person is somehow relevant to your life in a crazy, completely illogical way. I'm not talking about a non-existent character you've molded in your mind, like an ideal girlfriend or boyfriend, but someone you've perhaps seen on the news, read about in a non-fiction book or heard about from a friend.
I've been experiencing this feeling for the past week or so and it's been very unsettling.

Yes, I have. There can be several different reasons for it. Sometimes it's purely chemical - there's something physically or otherwise attractive about the person that we crush on them even though we don't know them. A prime example of this are adolescents who crush on charismatic entertainers.

Sometimes the connection is because circumstances are very similar between you and the other person. Because you share a lot of the same life experiences you naturally resonate with them.

Then too, there are people who we simply resonate with. If you believe in past lives, it's possible that you were connected in some way in a previous go-around. Sometimes, too, people call these soulmates. It's really the same thing, since "soulmate" does not inherently indicate a romantic partner. Even if two people were romantically attached in a prevous life doesn't mean they will be in the next - or even several down the road.

It's hard with so few details to give you a more detailed impression of your situation. If you want, ping me an email.

Yes and while it could just be a crush, there's that distinct possibility that it also might be a link to your soul mate. What's weird is when it's like that and you know how they're feeling with a simple "hello" and you feel like you could or would do anything for them at a moment's notice. They seem to be everything you've ever wanted and dreamed of. It is a bit unsettling, but it's kind of cool too - in a way.

I have, and I agree that it can be unsettling. It can also be really exciting, though. This actually happens to me quite frequently and I've learned to deal with it. Some people may joke or tease about it, but they simply don't understand. Just wait until this person starts showing up in your dreams, giving you advice and telling you secrets! :) It's the strangest thing I have ever experienced.

Yep. I was working at a Ren Faire when a customer came up to the window with his friend. I wasn't looking at them right away and first smiled at his friend. When I got to him it was like....SPROING~OING~OING! God, I felt like such a dork because we were both staring at each other. I couldn't think of anything to say except to ask his name and say it was nice. It was the most boring name too, Michael. He wasn't even that attractice, but it was immediate connection. We both left that encounter with goofy smiles. Sadly I couldn't follow him or find him again later.

Sometimes things are freaky, I suggest just going with the flow. If someone strikes you like that, contact them but be careful not to sound like a stalker. It may be difficult, but you might benefit from talking this connection out with them. They may feel the same way when they see you. If not, you will have to deal with it and leave them alone.

I had this feeling before too, when I met the girl who is my girlfriend now...and it's a really hard - to - describe feeling. But you just feel like you have known them all your life, you've just needed to be in the right place, at the right time. And that's when everything...will fall in place.

Good luck.

I think you may be "projecting" some element of your own personality on that person. That person may have attributes that you admire and that you value in your own personality.

DONT WORRY ABOUT THIS. IT IS VERY COMMON. IT WOULD NOT HOWEVER HURT TO THINK ABOUT WHY YOU FEEL THIS WAY TOWARD THIS INDIVIDUAL. IT WILL GIVE MY SOME INSIGHT INTO YOURSELF. GOOD LUCK BOB
