Ah, Paris and romance! What a combination, and how lucky you are!
Here are my top picks for romance:
1. Be sure to take a picnic basket with you on this trip. One afternoon, start out at the Jardin du Luxembourg and work your way out to the Place des Vosges. The precise route doesn't matter, as the purpose is to "discover" your own Paris: You'll see all manner of beauty in the gardens, take in wonderful Parisian street scenes, and you'll pass dozens of wonderful pattiseries and boulangeries. Stop in the ones that catch your eye and fill your basket with wonderful French cheeses, pates and rillettes . . . and don't forget the wine! When you reach the Place des Vosges, find a secluded spot under a tree and have a lovely luncheon on the grass with your beloved. You'll remember this experience for a lifetime.
2. The Eiffel Tower at night. You should avoid the restaurants here, as they are overpriced and not of good quality. The view, however, should not be missed. When it comes to romantic vistas, this one may well be the best in the world. Countless proposals of marriage have been made here, so it's a perfect place to celebrate the anniversary of your love.
3. A stroll through the Sixth Arrondissement and Quartier Latin. Late one afternoon, start out at the intersection of the Boulevard St. Germain and Rue de Rennes in the Sixth Arr. Pop in for a drink and the famous Cafe de Flore, then walk across the street to the Eglise St. Germain, the oldest standing church in all of Europe. If you're lucky, they might be having a concert that night. After the church, head east on the Boulevard St. Germain and wander into the Quartier Latin. This is without question the most romantic area of Paris, and you're sure to find places that catch your eye and become part of the wonderful memories you'll have of this trip.
Bonne Chance, mon ami . . and have a wonderful trip!

Take a stroll along the Seine River. There are boats that take tourists all along the river. You can stop off anywhere you like and then get on again without charge as long as it's the same day. Try to avoid the cafes on the Champs Elysees, they're tourist traps. You'll find small cafes where the locals eat, especially on the Left Bank. The food is delicious and inexpensive. Paris is the most romantic city in Europe, so try to do a lot of walking. You'll find many surprises.

perhaps....you have choosen the best destination....take a stroll on the champs de eleyse... both sides is good shopping in ethinic frech tradition....go to vendome for high end romatic shopping....wark near the park of eiffel tower, it is probably the most romantic park....all the food you love can be found everywhere in paris.... underground metro system is excellent and may be the best in world so you can take a drink in the even at a roadside bar viewing the palace and take a main course in a romantic restaurent at another end of city and desert at another and end up in a nightclub in no time.... so dont waste too much money on a central location, rather choose near a metro and in minutes you can be any where in paris. buy a four day or three day tourist pass on them and you can take unlimited journey on metros and buses. dont forget to see the louvre and the picaso musems and in between you will find very nice monuments and musems.....you will have a mega time....good choice. sorry for my spellings.

personally, I never get quite so hot as when I'm in a crowded museum pushing up against my sweetie and looking at amazing art. It's so sexy to me. Paris is a perfect place for that.
Anyplace can be romantic if you want it to be. You must first decide what appeals to you.

My idea is not in Paris itself but why don't you go visit the Chateau de Chantilly? It's only 26 miles, (or 42 km), north of Paris and there's a train that goes from Paris to the town of Chantilly. Here's a link to a picture of it: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://cache.eb.com/eb/image%3Fid%3D7313%26rendTypeId%3D4&imgrefurl=http://www.britannica.com/eb/art/print%3Fid%3D4769&h=300&w=391&sz=44&hl=en&start=3&tbnid=5xtyo3pKpOtKGM:&tbnh=94&tbnw=123&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dchateau%2Bde%2BChantilly%2BFrance%26gbv%3D2%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG
