Do you think these could be considered extremely minor actions that could lead to communism in then next 50 years??

I had a friend who threw up while waiting for a bus in Cleveland, and she got in trouble for puking in the public because it was considered littering. The charges were later dropped because she argued that vomit is biodegradable and it would wash away and what have you, but there will come a time where you can't even spit and get in trouble. And with all the organizations becoming politically motivated, we won't be allowed to eat certain things, and they want to tell us what we can and can't eat. It is already happening so I am scared to see this country in 50 years from now. Thank you.

Although I think these rules are silly and I believe people should be allowed to put whatever they want into their bodies (including currently illegal drugs such as cocaine or heroin) as long as they are adults (18 or 21, as determined by the appropriate legislature; whether that be Congress, or a state or local legislature), I don't think we're on our way to communism. We still vote for our congressman, senators, state and local legislators. These are the people who make the laws. That's why smoking and drug rules differ depending on what state and even what city you are in. For example, in California it is O.K. to smoke pot out in the open if you are going through chemotherapy. And, while in NYC, you cannot smoke at restaurants, bars and most indoor venues, this is not true in Portland. In communism, there aren't real elections and people who oppose the government and it's laws are jailed. We still have the right to choose the people who will make our laws. Unfortunately, too many people are apathetic and don't vote but then complain when laws are imposed that seem to regulate morality. The very fact that we can complain about our politicians is evidence that we are not heading towards communism (at least not yet!)

I think the issue is one of what risk there is to others. Passive smoking does put people at risk. Using phones when you need to be aware of people around you can be dangerous. But it is all a matter of degree.

well, Im sorry those are all things that help either your health or someone elses. If people arent smart enough to make the changes themselves, they need someone to MAKE them do it.
