that in order to truly be able to forgive others you have to be able to forgive yourself first?

We should be able to forgive ourselves if we go about forgiving others for their wrongdoings...

yes it's absolutely true. For example, I did something a while ago that was wrong (not mentioning what it was though!)
I forgave the other person that mostly caused me to do it, but for a few months I never forgave myself. I was having a hard time dealing with it, so once I forgave myself things were a lot better. :)
