I get free food and pick some up today somehow the trash people knowing that I am throwing can of food away and it coming from them. Some of the food that I get are no good and the cans food don't have expire date on them. I know when you go to store and get them they have expire date. Is there a law on that they have to put a expire date on the can of food like green beans in a can. Is there a website I can look up. I would like to know. If there is I want to show them proof that there is law with expire date need to be on. That one reason I am throwing them away. One time it didn't look good when I open one of the cans. They could get into trouble doing that I need to make sure is a law on to put expire date on those cans..

Thanks..

You know the old saying, "You get what you pay for!"

Canned food in the store generally doesn't have an expiration date, either. They have code numbers which only company reps and grocery managers can read. Canned food lasts for years. You can assume that if the can is intact, the food is still good (even if it's ten years old). Green beans that are bad stink to holy hell, so you'll know immediately if they are bad.

We're still eating green beans that we home-canned in the summer of 2004. Surely, yours aren't any older than that.

I agree with you! I would like to know the expiration on my food too. I dont blame you for doing that.
